The model was built in 1: 4 scale so that the retractable landing gear and airbrakes could also be installed. Our four-stroke engines are mainly intended to be engines - single-cylinder engines Saito FA-56, 65, 72, 80 and 91 or boxer FA 90 TS and FA 100 T.
For all single-cylinder engines, our anti-vibration engine mount The No. 7153/11 is used.
The installation of an electric engine is also possible - for example our actro 24-5 with a CAM Prop 14 x 8 or 14 x 9 ″ and 16 cells.

From an aeronautical standpoint, our RF-4D is a delight. The wing has both aerodynamic and geometric twist, which, combined with a very low wing loading, ensures excellent and balanced flight behavior.
It deserves to be flown "Scale", for the eyes and the heart! Radiant elegance, especially at low altitude, flight style - quiet to fairly fast. Moderate "classic" aerobatics is possible.
Loops flown with feeling, effective turns, rolls or other are no problem. As you are mostly flying with the engine at low rpm, fuel consumption is minimal. Long approaches can be split precisely with the help of the airbrakes.

The wing is in two parts, the 18mm connector forms a duraluminium tube of the highest strength, the horizontal stabilizer is firmly glued to the fuselage (via carbon tubes).
Access to the RC equipment is provided by a large recess at the bottom of the fuselage.

The retractable, spring-loaded undercarriage with 95 mm diameter hollow rubber tires has been specially developed for this model.

The EZFW pneumatic control with its 18 mm diameter (bore) compressed air cylinder is designed as a single-acting unit. This is an important contribution to safety, because if there is a loss of pressure in the system, the landing gear is automatically extended! Also included is an adjustable pressure reducing valve, which can be used to adjust the timing of retraction or "ladder" extension. The control valve is also designed to be single-acting; it is operated by pressing a cam (cam) mounted on the (mini) servo, for example, and a coil spring is used to extend it.
Only the hand pump with pressure gauge (e.g. Robart) needs to be purchased.

All Saito FA 56 up to FA 91S with 15 ccm can be installed. Of course, the Saito FA-90TS boxer engines with 15 cc and the FA-100T with 16.4 cc are perfectly suitable. In order to increase the safety of flight operations, we recommend the installation of a preheating regulator, the market offers a wide choice. Another advantage is that there is no need for a starter battery (and the ugly hole for the spark plug connector). By the way, all the engines mentioned disappear completely under the hood! which accommodates all the single-cylinder engines supplied. It reduces the transmission of vibrations from the engine to the airframe and reduces the noise emitted by the airframe, among other things
