Like its predecessor, the AR637T features AS3X technology, but pilots can now configure and program SAFE technology into their aircraft. AS3X (3-axis stabilization) technology works behind the scenes to mitigate the effects of turbulence and give you a sense of stability and precision that makes you feel like you're flying a much larger, well-tuned aircraft. SAFE technology provides an extra level of protection to make RC flying easier than ever. When activated, pitch and bank limitations prevent you from over-controlling, and automatic leveling makes recovering from risky or confusing attitudes as easy as releasing the sticks. Programming and installation of the AS3X and SAFE is done directly from your Spektrum transmitter* with an easy 3-step initial programming setup. To use SAFE and AS3X technology with the AR637T receiver, the receiver must be configured with a compatible Spektrum transmitter. With direct programming, there are no applications or cables needed to program or make changes at the flying field.
The AR637T is equipped with full range telemetry with integrated barometer to provide altitude and vario telemetry data without additional sensors. Additional telemetry devices such as voltage sensors can be connected to the volt port and XBus telemetry sensors can be connected via the XBus connector. It also has an SRXL2 port for an SRXL2 remote receiver to add additional RF redundancy (sold separately). An SRXL2 port is available for connecting compatible devices, programming and updating the receiver, and connecting with a traditional plug or connecting a battery. The AR637T is compatible and ready to use with Spektrum Smart ESCs for even simpler single-wire telemetry data. Spektrum Smart ESCs combine plug-n-play simplicity with the ability to communicate with other Smart electronics, creating the most powerful RC system imaginable for your model.
The throttle port on the AR637T receiver includes Smart Throttle. When equipped with Smart Throttle, the standard servo connector delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, and the ESC can send telemetry back to the receiver. The throttle port automatically detects when a Smart Throttle compatible ESC is connected and the throttle port begins to operate in Smart Throttle mode.
