It is now 10 years, the exact month, since the first SRS Competition was introduced to the market. At that time, it set a milestone in redundant receiver design using bus technology that was new at the time. The free allocation of outputs, the adaptation of servos and the connection to early telemetry systems were unique features for a long time.
Technology has evolved and requirements have increased. At PowerBox-Systems we are proud to present our further development, the PowerBox Competition SR2 . With a new design and state-of-the-art technology, more than 20 years of experience in the design and construction of on-board electronics have been integrated into one device.
The changes are already visible from the outside: the new colored TFT display is the most eye-catching and can be read clearly even in direct sunlight. The size of the screen allows an explicit menu structure, which our test drivers have not left a single question about the operation. Another visible change is the large, fully milled heatsink, which increases the power supply considerably. The overall size of the Competition SR2 could be reduced considerably. In keeping with its elegant design, the associated sensor switch and TFT display have also been integrated into a milled aluminum housing.
However, the biggest innovations are only noticeable after the power is turned on. All important information such as battery voltage, current, used capacity and all receiver-related information can be viewed at a glance on the main display. Status messages related to the iGyroSAT or the connected GPS III are also displayed.
In the menu itself, you will find many new functions in 2 languages in addition to the familiar menu items in a clear structure: German and English!
The new Competition SR2 has implemented the most powerful iGyro technology ever seen by PowerBox-Systems. In conjunction with the optionally available iGyroSAT, 12 gyro axes are available, which completely cover all existing model variants.
A sophisticated configuration wizard allows the pilot to configure models with, for example, two thrust vectors, ailerons and heels within a few minutes. At the end of the wizard, the transmitter channels are assigned, the gyro operating directions are defined and the servos are connected to the outputs.
Each individual gyro axis can also be fine-tuned from the transmitter with separate channels. A whole range of expert settings leave nothing to be desired when it comes to adapting the iGyro to individual needs after the first setup flight.
Servo adaptation was not only handled graphically: with the PowerBox Competition SR2 , the servo curve can now be adjusted using 5 points. The automatic servo adaptation has been newly developed. In addition to a main servo, up to two additional servos can be easily selected and, at the touch of a button, these 2-3 servos are precisely aligned with each other within seconds!
Two independent door sequencers are integrated in the Competition SR2 . In addition to the chassis, the canopy controls with lock can also be implemented without additional devices. The first door sequencer can be learned in a few minutes with the help of a configuration wizard - you can choose between 3 modes. In addition, special settings are very easy to adjust thanks to the graphical representation in which the entire sequence can be seen at a glance.
For PowerBox and Jeti drivers, the Competition SR2 is almost completely * controllable and adjustable from the transmitter! Telemetry for battery and receiver data is fully extended for all supported systems. With the GPS III connected, GPS data is also available - as far as the respective system allows.
