It is also possible to connect a BEC controller and a backup battery simultaneously. With this combination, make sure that the output voltage of the controller is higher than the voltage of the backup battery, e.g. if the BEC voltage is 8v, the backup battery discharges to 8v, then the BEC takes over. If the BEC fails, the backup battery will discharge again.
