During a hard landing the high kinetic energy is mainly absorbed by the rubber buffer which protects the FEMA retractable landing gear and the glider from damage.
The buffer can be easily assembled between two half-couples as shown in the picture.
Depending on the weight of the model and the size of the landing gear the damping can be optimally adjusted for all needs with 1-3 rubber buffers.

For cleaning and maintenance the retractable landing gear can be easily removed by loosening the screws in the aluminum block gear and then mounted again.
The landing gear damping fits all FEMA retractable landing gears produced so far.

The damping assembly consists of the aluminum bearing block front where the retractable landing gear is mounted in a swinging manner, the rubber buffer, the shock absorber rocker and all screws and nuts that are required for installation.
