MICROMOT steel collets are hardened, which gives them a high and constant elasticity. They retain the necessary accuracy even after long use (incomparable to unhardened collets with 4 slots or those made of brass or aluminum). The triple slot, which is much more difficult to achieve than a quadruple slot, provides a better fit. This is particularly important for centering small diameter rods.
