The Aichi D3A Type 99 carrier bomber (allied name "Val") was an embarked dive bomber during the Second World War. It was the main dive bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) and took part in almost all IJN actions, including the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Aichi D3A was the first Japanese aircraft to bomb American targets during the war, starting with Pearl Harbor and American bases in the Philippines, such as Clark Air Base. Vals sank more Allied warships than any other Axis aircraft, despite being considered obsolete at the start of the war. Now, VQ presents the D3A1 Aichi 46 size EP-GP as a large-scale series (3S). This D3A1 Aichi comes with a 4-scale flap, 1 painted pilot, a machine gun and an antenna. We also supply plywood scale details in the kit, so you can make your D3A1 Aichi look like the real thing. With the large battery hatch, you can use either an electric motor or a Nitro motor. With the plastic machine gun with fiberglass wheel cover, this D3A1 Aichi becomes one of the best 46-size Balsa-scale warbirds on the market.
