Once dubbed the "Spitfire of the First World War" and considered by many pilots to be the finest British single-seat fighter of the era, the Royal Aircraft Factory (RAF) SE5 played a decisive role in the Allies' recapture and maintenance of air superiority in mid-1917. One of the most recognizable aircraft of the era, six manufacturers built over 5,000 examples. Inspired by the original ParkZone model, the E-flite® SE5a 900 mm features an all-new design that includes more scale detail, as well as a host of modern features and technologies to deliver an unrivalled flying experience with surprising capabilities and performance. It bolts and snaps together in no time, and is small enough to be easy to store and transport without dismantling - so it can be flown in large parks, sports fields and RC flying areas. The basic BNF Basic version is equipped with improved AS3X+® technology, which mitigates the effects of wind and turbulence better than ever. It also features optional SAFE® Select technology, which makes flying even easier! Both versions include Spektrumà digital servos with metal gears, a Smart Lite 45A ESC and a 3S and 4S compatible motor.

The SE5 is one of the most iconic fighters of the First World War, but is rarely modeled for RC in any scale. The E-flite® SE5a 900 mm is an extremely detailed, easy-to-use replica in practical format, with a host of modern features and technologies to deliver truly unexpected levels of flight performance! It's capable of smooth slow flight as well as basic aerobatics - and if you push it a little, it's also capable of surprisingly aggressive aerobatics and can perform snaps, pop tops and much more. This makes flying more fun for intermediate to experienced pilots than with any other SE5 model!

It features many scale details, such as: molded side panels, radiator and exhaust details, machine guns and a pilot figure with scarf, as well as elastic flight wires for optional use. Functional features include large-scale main wheels and a hidden steerable rear wheel, as well as wings and struts that bolt and snap together for easy assembly and disassembly. However, its size allows it to be stored and transported without disassembly, so it can be flown in large parks, sports fields and RC flying areas. Factory-installed digital and metal-geared servos offer precise, reliable control at every speed. And the power system includes an Outrunner Spektrum motor and a 45-amp Avian Smart Lite controller compatible with the popular 3S and 4S 2200-3200mAh batteries. The basic BNF Basic version is also equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver featuring exclusive and enhanced AS3X+® technology, as well as SAFE® Select for optional use. What's more, both versions are factory-finished in the classic two-tone Royal Flying Corps livery with roundels.

Skill level 3 - Experience required

Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already possess the skills needed to assemble, configure and fly models of a similar class. This PNP version requires more experience and skill to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version, as you'll need to install a receiver that doesn't already include properly tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. You must have the experience and skills to successfully assemble and fly models such as the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1 m, Valiant 1.2 m, Commander mPd 1.4 m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5 m or other models of similar class before attempting to fly the SE5a 900 mm PNP version.

Plug-N-Play finish

The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes with a factory-installed power supply and servos ready for connection to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately), as well as the transmitter and battery you supply (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, complete the final assembly and fly!

Versatile power

The factory-installed Spektrum brushless motor is compatible with both 3S and 4S to offer a wide range of "soft to hard" performance - from basic leisure flying with 3S batteries to unlimited and unexpectedly aggressive vertical aerobatic performance with 4S batteries! The practical, magnetically-secured top hatch makes it easy to install and remove the popular, easy-to-find 2,200-3,200 mAh batteries.

The lightweight yet durable EPO airframe is composite-reinforced for added strength. And the factory-installed digital and metal-geared servos offer reliable, precise control at every speed, enabling leisure flying to aggressive aerobatics with confidence.

Easy assembly

No glue or special tools are required for final assembly, so you can get the 900 mm SE5a ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! And while it's conveniently sized to be transported fully assembled in almost any vehicle, you can remove the one-piece wings for even easier storage and transportation. Just a few screws and spacers that snap in and out easily, allowing fender removal and installation in just a few minutes.
