The Pilot-RC Raven 103″ is a 2.62 m wingspan ARF acrobatic RC plane, designed for a 80 to 120 cc gas engine or equivalent electric power. Its hybrid construction of wood and composite materials is intended for precision aerobatics and 3D flight. Pilot-RC lists a weight of 12.6 kg.
The Pilot-RC Raven 103″ is a large-scale radio-controlled aerobatic aircraft, developed to combine the agility needed for 3D flight with the stability and precision required for acrobatic maneuvers. Pilot-RC states that its design is the result of three generations of prototypes.
With a wingspan of 2.624 m and a wing area of 11,890 cm², this model is designed to be powered by a gasoline engine from 80 to 120 cc or an equivalent electric power system.
Its airframe benefits from a hybrid construction combining wood and composite materials. The wings are specially reinforced and feature a counterweight at the end of the aileron. This allows the outer servo to be positioned closer to the inner servo, thus reducing the weight at the wingtip.
The Pilot-RC quick-assembly system is fitted to the wings, stabilizer, and canopy. The wings and stabilizer can be removed without tools, making transportation and field assembly easier.
The hinges are factory-installed, glued, and pinned. The engine position is laser-engraved, and the engine cowl is attached from the inside, with no visible screws on the outside. The open structure makes it easy to install canister-type mufflers.
