The Pilot-RC Extra NG 78″ is a 1.97 m wingspan ARF aerobatic RC plane, designed for a 30 to 40 cc gas engine or equivalent electric power. Its hybrid construction of wood and composite materials is suitable for precision aerobatics and 3D flight. Pilot-RC states a weight of around 5.7 kg.
The Pilot-RC Extra NG 78″ is a radio-controlled airplane designed for precision aerobatics and 3D flight. With its wingspan of 1.97 m and wing area of 7,847 cm², it is intended to be powered by a 30 to 40 cc gasoline engine or an equivalent electric setup.
Its airframe combines a wooden structure with composite elements that reinforce the fuselage and wings. The model features the Pilot-RC quick-release system for the wings, stabilizer, SFGs, and canopy. This design makes assembly at the field, transportation, and battery access (for electric setups) much easier.
The wings and stabilizer are removable. The aileron and elevator hinges are installed, glued, and pinned at the factory. The engine mounting position is laser-engraved, and the engine cowl is attached from the inside to leave no visible screws on the outside.
The open structure facilitates the installation of a canister-type muffler. The rudder control uses a pull-pull system to ensure a direct connection to the servo.
The kit notably includes:
